CIOs Are Starting To Pursue IoT And Post-Nexus Technology

Gartner's study revealed that CIOs are starting to think about and pursue post-nexus technology, such as the Internet of Things, 3D printing and robotics. This statistic indicates that infrastructure and operations leaders should start getting ready to experiment with and deploy these technologies.

While Gartner's study found that CIOs are thinking about post-nexus technologies, it also found that 84 percent of CIOs are strategizing for these technologies in the near term of three years or sooner, as opposed to long-term strategies. Gartner analysts noted that this statistic presents a challenge because while CIOs should contemplate long-term plans, such as IT leadership and integration skills, to succeed in a post-nexus technological world.
