3. Compliance
Compliance is an ongoing priority that tops the lists of many surveys with nearly 70 percent CIOs telling Piper Jaffray that it ranks as the third priority on their list. The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards may be one of the biggest compliance concerns. The retail data breaches of 2014 may have struck a chord with survey respondents, many of whom are in businesses in the retail and restaurant sectors that accept debit and credit cards. The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act is also an ongoing concern among healthcare organizations and their business partners. In its 2015 predictions, security vendor Websense called the healthcare industry a primary target for cybercriminals and noted that the industry will find keeping personally identifiable information from getting into the hands of attackers.
