The market for endpoint security software also looks healthy, with 78 percent of CIOs citing endpoint security as a top priority. The security market has had an influx of security startups touting endpoint security technologies for detection and prevention. In addition, Piper Jaffray’s Nowinski said some networking vendors are adding endpoint components. Palo Alto Networks introduced Traps for endpoint protection and FireEye is also adding the capability to its platform. CIOs cited Symantec as their preferred security vendor, followed by Cisco Systems, Palo Alto Networks and Intel Security (formerly McAfee).
