CIO Survey Identifies Top Five Security Spending Priorities

The Piper Jaffray survey found that network security was the top priority for 2015, with 88 percent of CIOs citing the need for more modern gear. Nowinski told itbestofbreed.com that there is evidence that organizations are still replacing legacy firewalls with more modern next-generation firewalls that provide application control, more granular policy enforcement and additional advanced threat detection capabilities. CIOs cited Cisco Systems as the preferred primary networking vendor followed by Juniper, Dell, F5 Networks and Hewlett Packard. When asked what vendor they planned to work with in 2015, HP topped the list, followed by Brocade.
