Extending Legacy Infrastructure To Drive New Opportunities

Deloitte anticipates in 2015 enterprises will make significant investments in their existing core IT systems. Deloitte explains, companies will investment in a "core renaissance" of their IT infrastructure versus new capital spending in an attempt to squeeze more value out of legacy systems that are still robust enough to be retooled for more modern services and offerings.  

"To this end, many organizations are modernizing systems to pay down technical debt, re-platforming solutions to remove barriers to scale and performance, and extending their legacy infrastructures to fuel innovative new services and offerings," Deloitte wrote.
